Jazz

On the occasion of the approaching 100th birthday of jazz bassist Ray Brown in 2026, the band led by Austro-Iranian double bassist Navid Djawadi performs – alongside their own compositions and arrangements – music from Ray Brown's “Ray Brown Suite”. This three-movement work stays firmly rooted in the jazz idiom while also incorporating elements of avant-garde classical music, blues, and ragtime. The arrangements are lively and engaging, spotlighting not only the improvisational finesse of Urs Hager but also the soloistic expressive range of Navid Djawadi and Bogdan Djurdjevic.
