n late 2022, London 11-piece Levitation Orchestra took to the legendary Livingston Studios in London to record their third body of work. Featured on festival mainstages like We Out Here and Brainchild, and sellout headlines across the country, this suite of music marks a new departure for the band’s compositional world-building and sound design. After the exploration of childhood, lineage and loss on 2021’s ‚Illusions & Realities,‘ this next suite embodies the journey of overcoming and healing, and the place of peace that we each find at the end of every struggle – Sanctuary.

“Sanctuary introduces a new Levitation Orchestra to the world, one which has found balance, and is in full flow of the power of its collective creativity,” says Axel Kaner-Lidstrom. “While exploring this concept of Sanctuary, we discovered so many different musical manifestations of this word, and so many different ways in which a human being can find peace. The often sought quiet, and stillness is just one. Does one not feel an inexplicable inner peace when the body is moving freely, uninhibited while dancing? The multiplicity of sanctuaries available to us, that is what we explored.”
Dana Gillespie voc, Joachim Palden p, Tom Müller ts, Harry Hauzenberger dm.
